Home » Custom Garage – Coatesville PA
We completed this project in the winter of 2014. As Pennsylvania residents can all remember, the weather was a challenge that year with all of the cold and snow that hit us. Smucker Brothers Construction was able to work through it all and still complete this custom garage in time for the spring. Our team removed the existing garage, added a laundry room, and built a new 24×32 garage.
The owner wanted the garage to have a high ceiling so that he could put a car lift in his new space. From the floor to ceiling it was 13ft., which really made a nice open area for the client to work on his cars. The custom front porch overhang and small section of metal roof in the front is what makes this garage really special. We also added a small addition in the back of the house to add some space for the dining room and put a nice double sliding Andersen patio door onto the existing deck.
This involved removing our present roof entirely, building a knee-wall raising the height of the house one-foot and then building a new roof six-feet higher than the old roof. Building dormers in the roof they were able to construct five rooms, adding a new floor to our house. I was very impressed with the engineering and use of pre-fabricated beams to construct the new floor on the house. Mike Smucker led the construction with a regular crew of six skilled workers. Very dependable they always arrived on time and it was a pleasure to watch them work. The result is a beautiful home.
